I remember When we used to gather Leaves in the park. Swathed in shades of fire, and whisky, and smoke, We laughed in the face of life And I loved you. You loved to hold The earthy mulch Between tender fingers, Caressing the stems, Navigating the veins. Veins on the backs of my eyelids Sigh at the memory of you. Oh, how do you not remember Eyes that used to glimmer, like a torch, In fumbled greetings, and the scorch Of trembling, blushing cheeks? Hello and welcome to the cosy, dark corner where my profile lurks! Plonk yourself down and help yourself to some tea and cake (imaginary, of course- otherwise I'd have to post it, and have you ever tried to fit a Battenberg through a letterbox? It's the stuff of nightmares, I can tell you.)

But I digress. If you're here on purpose, then you probably want to read some of my writing- which is funny, because I don't really consider myself to be a true writer: I'm just a girl with a pen and paper, trying to express some of her thoughts in a world that she finds to be both beautiful and bizarre. When I'm not tripping over items of furniture or small children, I write poetry and prose, as my drawing skills leave a lot to be desired....

From my name you can probably tell that I am in love with, amongst other writers and poets,

The Bard

and one of my favourite things to do is to go to the Globe Theatre when I have the chance. I like languages and can understand French and Spanish, with a smattering of Latin as well, so to all you other Latin nerds out there: salve!

Happy Birthday to Thee...

Good Morrow! It would be impossible for me to let this day go by without marking the 450th birthday of my favourite man (thus the appropriate greeting for you above :D). Theories abound about his true identity. Was he really the grammar school boy who rose to greatness? Was he in fact Edward de Vere, the Earl of Oxford? Was he not even one individual, but a team of Elizabethan poets and playwrights who collaborated on some of the most famous works? Happy Easter!

Hi everyone, How are you? This is just a quick message to wish you all a great Easter!
